For everyone aged 8 and over.
Told 1000 times, but never like by subbotnik at Theater an der Ruhr! With playful delight, humor and curiosity, the group dives into the multi-layered universe of “1001 Nights”.
“Tell me who you are, what you've experienced, tell me your story!” But Bo is new to the city and doesn't know the stories that are told here. He doesn't know who landed the last Genie and freed him from the bottle. He has also never heard the incredible story about the hunchbacked singer or the story of his neighbor, the cook, who survived a shipwreck and almost became the richest prince of all time. Mira, the tailor and tailor's daughter, knows all these stories. The two meet one night on the roof and experience an unforgettable adventure together, because as long as the stories are told, time stands still and evil is kept at bay...
The original version of the production ‘1001 Nights or the Power of Storytelling’ was developed by subbotnik (Kornelius Heidebrecht, Martin Klöpfer und Oleg Zhukov) at the Nationaltheater Mannheim in 2018.
