We all believed in love and waited for a fairy tale to happen to us. In our search for it, we gave our fairy tales names and followed a “glimmer” because we never lost our faith: The glimmer exists! It is just rarely seen. Because true love is rare.
From her teenage years to her forties, Aslı embellished her experiences with love with fairy tales. On this magical and challenging journey, every time she stumbles, she finds the strength to rewrite her story and move on. Because children who grow up with fairy tales never run out of words. They don't believe in an ending. They rewrite the endless stories with happy endings in their minds over and over again.
But do we tell our fairy tales because we are afraid of forgetting them, or because we simply don't want to stop believing? For Aslı, both are true. She may not wander through enchanted castles or mystical deserts in search of her path, but she navigates the chaos of Istanbul—through the narrow streets she traverses.
