Twice Gregor wonders why his sister, Grete, is crying. I have read this sentence several times and found no answer in your text.
I have been wondering about this for so long and will now ask Grete myself.

‘Why is Grete crying?’ – this question remains unanswered in Kafka's famous text The Metamorphosis; no one seems interested in her perspective. Grete's voice is missing, as are Milena's responses from her correspondence with Kafka.
In Édith Nana's new play, they step into the spotlight. The metamorphosis of women* becomes tangible for the audience in a theatrical journey of discovery.
