Haberci / The messenger

Quick Info

Ruhrbühnen für die Demokratie

In tragedies, messengers act as intermediaries and bridges between the people and kings, gods, and humans. Messengers are forced to witness all the wars, murders, deaths, and natural disasters caused by humans, which those who hear the news they deliver can never directly experience. They remain on stage for as long as their assigned role allows, they exist for as long as the space assigned to them, and then they disappear. We never learn who they are, their names, their existence in life.

In Turkish with German surtitles.

Haberci was produced with the support of the Gülriz Sururi-Engin Cezzar Theater Incentive Award and the İKSV 50th Anniversary Young Artist Fund.

Supported by the Ministry of Culture and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia.
