The Ruhrfestspiele have long been a home to the New Circus. Since 2019, it is even more firmly anchored in the festival's program. In 2023, the Ruhrfestspiele will present a production of this extraordinary, diverse, still underrated art form in the Großes Haus. And this is not just any production: "Humans 2.0" by the Australian company Circa is probably the most impressive, powerful, and beautiful work that the New Circus has to offer at the moment. Ten bodies appear in a flash of light. They move in harmony for a fleeting moment and then lose themselves again in opposite directions. Towers of people grow and disintegrate, bodies jump, fly, become trapped - gravity seems to be suspended, the boundaries between bodies become fluid.
