She is one of the outstanding voices in contemporary German literature: Iris Wolff, born in 1977 in Sibiu (Romania), in the Banat region, and raised in Transylvania, has lived in Germany since 1985. The author has been honoured with numerous prestigious awards for her extensive literary work. In 2020, she published her novel ‘Die Unschärfe der Welt’, which was awarded the Evangelical Book Prize, the Eichendorff Literature Prize and the Solothurn Literature Prize, among others, and was voted one of the five favourite books of both Germans and the German book trade; last year, she published her novel ‘Lichtungen’, which was shortlisted for the German Book Prize and for which she was awarded the Uwe Johnson Prize and the Literature Prize of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
