In cooperation with Goetz Collection
According to the British magazine The Guardian, the monumental Cremaster Cycle by US media artist Matthew Barney is considered the greatest work of film art since Salvador Dalí‘s and Luis Bunuel‘s The Andalusian Dog. Here Matthew Barney associatively combines elements of his own biography with fictional references and reflections on reproductive processes, which he translates into symbolic, excessive visual worlds. The Cremaster Cycle marks the beginning of a collaboration with the Goetz Collection, which makes the artwork/installation available to Schauspielhaus Bochum on loan.
