2026 Theater an der Ruhr

Museum Tours

Quick Info

Since 2024, the exhibition format Collection+ has been examining the municipal art collection from changing perspectives.

Utopia. Collection+ marks the beginning of a collaboration between the Kunstmuseum and Theater an der Ruhr, which this season is dedicated to a joint exploration of the theme of UTOPIA.

Utopia refers to a “non-place” that designs idealized models of society and acts as a mirror of reality. The municipal art collection, which has had a contemporary focus since the early 20th century, also includes artistic positions that create spaces for experimentation with alternative orders and new perceptions.

Works by the following artists will be presented:

Banz & Bowinkel, Willi Baumeister, Uwe Bremer, Salvador Dalí, Dean Davis, FRANEK, Dorothee Golz, Helga Griffiths, Hannah Höch, Alexander Kanoldt, Tomas Kleiner, Matthias Meyer, Rune Mields, Joan Miró, Heribert Ottersbach, Corinne Wasmuth, Thomas Zipp

Participation in the tour costs € 13 (standard) or € 6.50 (concession). (entrance to the museum included) Limited capacity: please register Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the museum ticket office via Tel: 0208 – 455 4138 Duration: 60 minutes
