1972 startete Radio Bremen als Nachfolger für den legendären "Beat-Club" ein neues Musikformat unter dem Titel: "Musikladen". Ihn kennzeichnete eine wilde Mischung unterschiedlicher Musikstile: Rock, Pop, Rock 'n' Roll, Metal, Country, Jazz, Soul, Blues, Disco … Gewürzt wurde der Cocktail mit kabarettistischen Zutaten: Insterburg & Co., Schobert & Black, Die Wühlmäuse … Mit spitzer Feder garnierte Heiner H. Hoier mit seinen preisgekrönten Cartoons ein Festmenü, das sich wohltuend vom Einheitsbrei des deutschen Fernsehens abhob.
Als Hommage an diese Sendung präsentiert "Musikladen - Eine musikalische Wundertüte" über 30 Songs von Suzi Quatro, Ike & Tina Turner, Nazareth, Queen, ABBA, Stevie Wonder, Boney M. und vielen anderen.
