“Rebel Resistors Radio Club” is a clandestine, analogue global network of girls, preparing for the future! Together, the Recklinghausen members of RRRC will built their own radios and write their own manifestos for transmission, outlining how their vision of the future they wish to create. Although analogue radio may appear to be an out-dated technology, RRRC considers it to be the communication method of the future: self built, crisis-proof and ready for a (possible?) post-digital world. Led by Gemma Paintin, co-founder of British performance group Action Hero, Rebel Resistors Radio Club invites the young women of tomorrow to use their voices- and learn new technical skills- to think about how they shape the world that they’ll inherit from adults. The manifestos created by the Recklinghausen members of Rebel Resistors Radio Club will be available to hear in an installation in the Ruhrfestspielhaus.
