Iran & Israel – A Musical Affair
Sistanagila’s name derives from a combination of the Iranian province Sistan and the Hebrew folk song Hava Nagila, which means “Come together.” This band of Israeli and Iranian musicians offers a rich blend of religious music, folk, klezmer, Sephardic and Persian tunes, classical and contemporary music. Against this multifaceted sonic tapestry Sistanagila perform a balancing act between traditional and modern cultural identity. Their credo: differences do not divide us, they enrich us.
