To mark the 150th birthday of Maurice Ravel, we are celebrating his anniversary with two new creations in very different styles. Richard Siegal, otherwise known for choreographies to often electronic beats, focuses on the world-famous “Bolero”, which is full of driving force, promises eternity and encourages dancing. The starting point for Bridget Breiner's new creation is not only the special richness of color of the orchestral sound in Ravel's music, but also the theme of love, both between the protagonist couple in “Daphnis et Chloé” and between the composer and his work.
