Soli d'Arte is a true child of the Ruhrfestspiele. Founded as a choir for May 1, 1981, the ensemble continued to sing as the Chor Recklinghäuser Gewerkschafter*innen (Recklinghausen Trade Unionists Choir) and performed at "Große Freiheit 89," the legendary Ruhrfestspiel production. In 1995, the choir changed its name to ChorMusikTheater Soli d'Arte, which now graces the Ruhrfestspiele stage with an anniversary special. An idiosyncratic combination of singing, music, recitation, choreography, and acting speaks of life's joys, of sadness and confidence, of the power of nature and community.
