"The Great Yes, The Great No" is the latest stage production by the internationally acclaimed South African artist William Kentridge, making its German premiere as a co-production with the Ruhrfestspiele in Recklinghausen. In this unique work of art, Kentridge masterfully combines elements of theater, surreal chamber opera, and visual art. Using drawings, collages, film, and masks, along with music, dance, and acting, the piece weaves a multi-layered narrative that dissolves the boundaries between reality and fiction. Through its focus on the theme of exile, the piece bridges the concerns of history with the pressing issues of the present.
