Der Menschheit Stimme

Quick Info

Under the title “Der Menschheit Stimme” - a quote from Beethoven's freedom opera “Fidelio” - hundreds of singing citizens of Duisburg's community will gather in the square in front of the theater to “awaken” and dig up the “giant of human rights” sleeping under the Opernplatz/ König Heinrich-Platz. Together with an ensemble of singers, actors, dancers and, of course, the audience - with music, text, sound, movement, emotion, community and the composition by Israeli composer Amir Shpilmann for a 300-member choir, which also invites all members of the audience to sing along.

Already from September 2, the Opernplatz will gradually be transformed into a place of assembly and declamation of human rights in a series of additional events  - a playground for all human rights giants: here everyone is invited to share thoughts, to collaborate, to get into conversation with each other, to get creative.
