What makes us dance? We dance for joy, perhaps also to dance away our frustrations, or to get rid of excess energy. Dancing liberates and connects. But how do we view dance? How do you watch without directly judging whether it is “good” or “bad”?  French choreographer Jérôme Bel is one of the most important representatives of contemporary conceptual dance. In “Gala,” he once again shares his unique approach to dance with the audience: his mission is to open up the theater to those who are not represented there, to bring them onto the stage and show the unifying power of art.
