This theater experience is something special: with “Between the Pages,” the Ruhrfestspiele come directly to your kindergarten. During a surprise visit, artists interrupt the usual hustle and bustle for a brief moment. When the children are busy painting, playing, reading, or learning, the door to the group room suddenly opens a crack. Someone slips into the room: a dancer! Music plays from her bag and curious glances follow her movements. Whispers can be heard: What’s going on here? Who is that? And then the children dive breathlessly into the dancer’s story. During Ruhrfestspiele 2023, we visited kindergartens throughout Recklinghausen with “Between the Pages”. Many wonderful encounters ensued, so we decided to bring this beautiful project back to our city.
