2026 Theater an der Ruhr

ENSEMBLE

Quick Info

For ENSEMBLE, director and artist Marlin de Haan and her team invite audiences to a happening on the stage of the Ringlokschuppen Ruhr, situated at the intersection of theatre and backstage, event and action. The familiar conventions between audience and performance in the theatre are to be explored and redefined through artistic means.

To develop the project, with the aim of engaging with as many diverse people as possible and gathering their perspectives on theatre operations, Marlin de Haan is moving into an inner-city high-rise complex in Mülheim. Her flat becomes a temporary meeting place where artistic, private and public concerns are discussed. Supplemented by actions in the urban space, the aim is to engage citizens as an audience and fellow participants, and to document shared interests, differences and distances. What opportunities for new alliances and partnerships can be found in the neighbourhood and through hospitality?

The actions in urban space will take place on 11 April, 25 April and 3 May. We will announce the exact location shortly on our website and via our social media channels. To get in touch, please email us at: mail.ensemble@gmx.de

As part of the May focus on ‘Solidarity, Class and Consciousness’ at Ringlokschuppen.
